My High heel shoe class

Hi,I'm back,
I told you I would be going  for a high heels class with Rhu Strand of Pimp my cake, gold award winning sugar craft teacher.

So I got on the train at London Victoria station all the way to Havant station enroute to Lovedean,Waterlooville. The things I do for the love of cake decorating and the lengths I go to.

Rhu is such a lovely person, not what I expected, no airs, just down to earth lovely.

I had a lovely time and she is a lovely teacher.

I learnt the essentials of making shoes(hehe. sugar ones not Italian designer ones) freehand without using moulds.

The class was from 2-5 and the time just flew, definitely have to take another class, maybe Felicity the fairy or skipping sally,so much to choose from,or it might be all the way to France for French cake breaks class.

Lovely,isn't it?

So that was my class and it was productive.

What else happened-I tweaked a vanilla cake recipe adding oil, yoghurt, milk and pureed strawberries.
It turned out heavenly and all because I bought a punnet of fat, juicy strawberries.

How was your week?

See you soon
Shols.

My buy,my make

Hi,
I'm back,I've had a lovely week,what about you?

I attempted a bag cake based on a bag tutorial of Ann Reardon on You tube.

I like her style and she makes everything seem achievable without a large amount of tools.

Tools, that's a story for another day,I can't seem to get enough of them,if I read about something new off I go to the shops or on the internet to buy the next gadget.

Let me show what I got last week to help me level and tort my cakes-just because I fell in love with it.
I do have a wire cake leveller from George East which works perfectly okay, but I'm a sucker for cake stuff,OK

So here is my adjustable cake guide,I was supposed to get it on Amazon, but then I was in Tesco and saw this for £12,I was like naah, forget it.The next day on Tesco direct it was £8 lucky me, so I had it delivered to my closest Tesco Express which was within walking distance.

.It's made by Kitchen Craft and they have other lovely baking and cake decorating things.

My make of the week was this brown textured bag, what do you think?

Like I said I can only get better with experience.

I am off to Hampshire,Waterlooville to be precise to attend a high heel shoe  class with the accomplished Rhu Strand  of Pimp my Cake, will tell you about it soon.

I also have to conclude my cake roadtrip of going to various classes in and around London and the Home Counties.

Also my Knightbridge PME classes which I enjoyed immensely.

So see you soon
Shols.

What I have been up to

Hi,
I have being having fun, this past week.I made a ton of cupcakes and cakes for friends.
I always forget to take photos at every step, must not forget again.

This is a pink birthday cake for a friend, embellished with flowers, berries and gems on wires. The inside is a lovely Victoria sponge with seedless strawberry jam and butter cream.

These are the cupcakes I made, some were red velvet and some were vanilla. The icing was buttercream with a hint of cream cheese and double cream. The red velvet recipe used was from
Sally's baking addiction,I really love her recipes.

I also tried my hand at making a Converse sneaker-I bought a tutorial from Ann Reardon-her You tube tutorials are really good.

It did turn out a bit wonky but I am proud of my first attempt,I can only get better right?

So here it is

The finished sneaker

A busy week right!!

Se you soon and we'll continue with the next cake class I attended.
